Chewy Ritual
To Coincide with The Circle exhibition members of NAGAS collectively created a mandala, inspired by the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, made completely out of gum.
The term Mandala comes from the sanskrit word meaning circle.
Constructing a mandala is traditionally a sacred Buddhist ritual or meditive process that can take weeks to complete. The traditional Tibetan mandala is usually made using coloured sand.
The completed Mandala was exhibitted in Newcastle City Library as part of the 'Circle' exhibition in October 2010.
