One Flew Over the

Star & Shadow

World Mental Health Day
Monday 10th October 2011
The Star and Shadow Cinema

1pm - 5pm

To celebrate world mental health day 2011 NAGAS hosted an all day event at the Star and Shadow Cinema located just a short distance from the studio.

Inviting numerous Mental Health based services from the region, the event included an exhibition of art works, performances from both the NAGAS writing and music groups followed by a screening of Mary and Max, a 2009 Australian clay-animated comedy-drama, in the cinema.

Spanning 20 years and 2 continents, Mary and Max tells the story of a pen-pal relationship between two very different people: Mary Dinkle and Max Horovitz. Based on a true story the film deals with themes including childhood neglect, teasing, loneliness, autism, obesity, depression and anxiety.

Thank you to all that came and made it a real day to remember.
